Big Fish, Little Pond
Starring: Zoraida Khatcherian
When a noted collector of antique books dies, his heirs put his collection up for auction. Zoraida attends with the hope than something interesting will be cheap enough to be bought by the special collections section of the university library. When it turns out that the collection includes several volumes of forbidden lore, all sorts of other collectors take an interest.
(Unless anyone has any better ideas, maybe some of Kemmler’s earlier writings?)
Not by Kemmeler, but something that his peeps would be most interested in getting a hold of. Remember, the Council trashed pretty much everything that he had ever written. Research into topics that could be used by his people are up for grabs.
A scholarly book written on Forbidden Aztec Death Cults and their Rites and Rituals-nothing of overtly practical use, but a good jumping point off on research for any good necromancer. Perhaps on the creation of a phylactery…
For Zoraida’s 1st adventure “B” plot, I’m thinking a fraternity who’s making their pledges prank the local weirdos. So in addition to dealing with a bunch of bad people, there’s a bunch of self-entitled fraternity guys running around at the same time who think putting sugar into your gas tank is the bees knees. No one would mind we we ripped their arms off, would they? Or, at least, no jury would convict us?
What if it’s the other way-some of the locals
take umbridge to the morons, and decide to teach them a lesson. Maybe the lesson takes on a life of it’s own, and Zoraida has to step in before things
escalate beyond just desserts and into “main course”.
